If you are a Windows user, have a sound card, microphone, and speakers, you can record your PowerPoint presentation to capture your voice narrations, slide timings, and ink and laser pointer gestures directly on PowerPoint.


Step 1: Gather your PowerPoint presentation.




Step 2: With your presentation open, on the Slide Show tab, click the Record Slide Show down arrow.

Pick one Start Recording from Beginning.

 

*CAUTION*

Clear is grayed out unless you have previously recorded some slides. Be careful when choosing Clear, as you can permanently delete your narrations or timings.



Step 4: In the Record Slide Show box, check or uncheck the boxes for your recording, and click Start Recording.



Step 5: At the top left corner of the slide, you can use the Recording toolbar to:

  • Go to the next slide - Description: o to the next slide
    • Pause the recording - Description: ause recording

    Re-record the current slide -  




    Step 6 (optional)

    To use ink, eraser, or the laser pointer in your recording, right-click the slide, click Pointer options, and pick your tool:

    • Laser Pointer
    • Pen
    • Highlighter

    Eraser



    Step 7: To end your recording

     

    Right-click the final slide, and click End Show or press the ESC key.



    Step 8: To Preview the Recorded Slideshow

     

    On the Slide Show tab, click From Beginning or From Current Slide.



    Step 9: Save the Presentation

     

    Click File > Save & Send > Create a Video.



    Step 10: Under Create a Video, click Computer & HD Displays, and then click Internet & DVD.



    Step 11: Click the Use Recorded Timings and Narrations.



    Step 12: Click Create Video.

     

    Save as type: MPEG-4 Video
